About
Sada Swirl
Hi, I’m Sada Swirl—a storyteller in color and chaos. From retro roller skates to pet portraits to conceptual installations, my art captures moments that swirl between memory and emotion. I’m based in the Midwest, powered by caffeine, curiosity, and a touch of glitter.

Formal Training
My artistic journey began at home, learning watercolor from my first teacher—my mother. In grade school, I studied under Susan Connor, and in high school, I expanded my skills through classes with Jan Groenemann while attending Incarnate Word Academy in St. Louis. I went on to earn a BFA in Studio Art from Lindenwood University, where I studied under influential artists including John Troy and the late Grant Hargate. These mentors shaped my multidisciplinary approach and continue to inspire the evolving heartbeat of my work.

Upcoming Projects
I’m currently working on The Genesis Series, a mixed media collection on canvas that imagines what Divine blueprints might look like—layered, luminous, and open to interpretation. I’m also developing an immersive installation titled Bottled Up: Side Effects May Vary, which invites viewers to confront the emotional and environmental impact of what we keep sealed inside—physically and metaphorically. Both projects push the boundaries of medium and meaning, continuing my exploration of memory, identity, and unseen weight.
